Mumbai Master Carpentry · Eastern Suburbs hub
Carpenter in the Eastern Suburbs — Chembur, Ghatkopar, and Mulund, built at our Fort workshop
Mumbai Master Carpentry builds at 208, Wakefield House, Ballard Pier, Fort, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400001. From there we travel up the central line to measure, then come back to install kitchens, wardrobes, doors, TV units and furniture in Sion, Chembur, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund. This page is the hub for that corridor. It covers how visits from Fort are timed, how older buildings and newer towers change the job, and which locality or service page to read next. It does not pretend we have a suburban branch, and it is not a doorway page for every pin code.

One hub for the central line, not twenty pin-code clones
An older Chembur housing society, a new Ghatkopar tower and a Mulund flat near the Thane border are different jobs. Where the building type and logistics really differ, we already publish a focused page: Chembur, Ghatkopar and Mulund, plus the Powai hub. This hub covers what they share: travel from Fort, society rules, and monsoon damp. Citywide coverage still starts at carpenter in Mumbai.
Neighbourhoods this hub covers
- Sion, Chembur, Tilak Nagar, Govandi side: older housing societies and walk-ups next to newer redevelopment towers. See the Chembur page
- Kurla and Vidyavihar: compact flats where storage per square foot matters most. Start with 1BHK carpentry and loft storage
- Ghatkopar East and West: tall society towers and busy family kitchens. See the Ghatkopar page
- Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg, Bhandup: newer complexes along the LBS and Eastern Express Highway corridor, covered with Ghatkopar or Mulund visits
- Mulund East and West: covered as a northern slot rather than a same-morning dash from Fort. See the Mulund page, and the Thane hub just beyond
- Powai: has its own Powai hub
If your building is somewhere else on the central or harbour line, ask anyway and tell us the nearest landmark. We would rather say what is realistic for your address than promise a slot we cannot keep.
Getting from Fort to your flat: honest timing
Our workshop is at Ballard Pier, at the southern tip of the city. Off-peak, the Eastern Freeway makes Chembur and Ghatkopar one of the more direct suburban runs we do. Evening peak and July rain still slow it down, and Bhandup and Mulund are further again. We plan around that instead of hiding it:
- Site visits are booked as morning or early-afternoon slots, grouped by corridor (Sion to Chembur, Kurla to Ghatkopar, Vikhroli to Mulund) so we arrive at the time we gave you
- Shutters, carcasses and frames are finished in Fort before install day, so installs are mostly assembly, fixing and finishing, not cutting in your living room
- Deliveries go in the window your society allows for tempos and material movement, and that window goes on the schedule
- If heavy rain or a road closure means we will miss a slot, we call ahead and rebook
The standard price bands do not include a hidden travel or "suburb" multiplier. The quote shows the work, the materials, and any genuine access labour.
Older societies, new towers, and lift sizes
The Eastern Suburbs mix two kinds of building. Older societies in Chembur, Sion and Kurla often have a small lift or only stairs, so a full-height wardrobe panel may have to be carried up by hand. Newer towers in Ghatkopar, Vikhroli and Mulund usually ask for a vendor registration form, a booked service-lift slot with padding, and fixed working hours.
At the free visit we measure the lift (cabin depth, door width and diagonal), the stair turns and the room itself. If an 8 ft shutter will not fit, we design the carcass in sections that will, and we tell you before we build. Stair-carry labour and extra floor protection are written on the quote. Send the society rules with your first WhatsApp and we will plan around them.
Monsoon damp: where swelling actually starts
Ground-floor and low-lying flats, and walls that take the rain, stay damp for longer after the monsoon. Most swelling still starts at the same few places: an unsealed sink cut-out, a pipe hole, an open edge, or water dripping from an indoor AC unit. So we specify by location in the flat, not by postcode. Wet zones, sink and dishwasher sides, and units on external walls get a carcass grade chosen for humidity. Read marine ply vs commercial ply, BWP plywood and monsoon furniture care before you compare quotes, and use the quote red flags list to spot the gaps.
Jobs we take from this catchment
- Modular kitchens, from compact galley kitchens to longer L runs in family flats. Cost drivers are on the kitchen cost guide
- Wardrobes and storage, hinged or sliding, sized to the lift as well as the wall. See wardrobe cost and loft storage
- TV and media units and custom furniture made to the room, including storage beds for smaller bedrooms
- Doors and frames, including replacements in older buildings. Cost notes are on door cost
- Furniture repair, for monsoon-lifted edges and loose hinges where an honest fix beats a full rebuild
Indicative prices
Indicative starting prices are the same citywide bands. The Eastern Suburbs do not get a silent multiplier. A separate line is added only for a stair carry, extra packing, or an out-of-hours society slot. Custom furniture from ₹18,000 · doors from ₹8,500 · wardrobe from ₹22,000 (roughly 6×8 ft hinged) · modular kitchen from ₹85,000 (roughly 10 ft straight run) · typical engagements from ₹55,000. The final price follows measurement and an itemised scope.

FAQ
No. Our only workshop is 208, Wakefield House, Ballard Pier, Fort, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400001. Chembur, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund are site-visit territory: we come to measure, build in Fort, then bring the finished pieces back for install. We do not claim a branch we do not have.
Sion, Chembur, Tilak Nagar, Kurla, Ghatkopar East and West, Vidyavihar, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg, Bhandup and Mulund are regular visits. Chembur, Ghatkopar and Mulund each have their own page, and Powai has its own hub. This page is the single overview for the central line, not one page per pin code.
Off-peak, the Eastern Freeway makes Chembur and Ghatkopar one of the easier suburban runs from Fort. Peak hours and heavy rain still slow it down, and Bhandup and Mulund take longer. We book visits as morning or early-afternoon slots grouped by corridor. There is no Eastern Suburbs surcharge on the standard price bands. A separate line only appears for a stair carry, extra packing, or an out-of-hours society slot, and it is written on the quote.
Newer towers in Ghatkopar, Vikhroli and Mulund often need a vendor form, a booked service-lift slot, lift padding and fixed working hours. Older Chembur, Sion and Kurla buildings may have a small lift or none at all. At the free visit we measure the lift cabin and door, the stair turns and the room, and we size shutters and carcass splits to fit. Any stair-carry labour is on the quote before we cut.
Not for every piece. Ground-floor and low-lying flats, and walls that take the rain, stay damp longer after the monsoon. Wet zones, sink cut-outs and external-wall units get a carcass grade chosen for humidity. A dry internal wardrobe may not need the same board. The grade and thickness are written on the itemised quote.
Call or WhatsApp +91 9987911330, or use the form on this page. Tell us the locality, the building name, and whether there is a service lift. After a free site visit you get an itemised quote listing dimensions, materials, hardware, install, timeline and exclusions, not a vague lump sum. Kitchen buyers can also use our modular kitchen quote checklist.
