Mumbai Master Carpentry stands behind the carpentry we build and install: joints, fit, and finish from our work. The period we state is 1 year of workmanship. That is the same cover already written on our kitchen, wardrobe, and carpenter pages. It is not a lifetime warranty, and we do not publish a longer number we cannot stand behind.
The quote you approved is the scope. This page explains what happens after handover — including what Mumbai humidity and the monsoon do to ply and hardware, and what remains your responsibility. How the job is measured and built is on how we work. The workshop address is on About.

What the 1-year workmanship cover includes
For one year from handover, defects in joints, fit, or finish that come from our carpentry are fixed at no charge. In practice that means:
- Joints that open because of our assembly
- Shutters or drawers that sit out of alignment because of our fitting
- Finish faults from our work that are there at handover or show up from that work within the year
- Hardware we supplied, where the fault is our fixing into the board
Tell us what you see. We look, and we say whether it is inside this cover. A snag inside the cover is not a new project charge.

Normal daily wear is not a defect. A wall that moves, plaster that stays damp, or an AC that drips into a carcass for months is a building condition. We will still come and look if you call. We will not relabel that as a failed joint.
Monsoon, humidity, ply, and hardware
Coastal air and a long monsoon are normal in Mumbai, not an accident. Moisture shows up at sink bases, hob runs, wardrobes on external walls, and wardrobes that share a wall with a bathroom. That is why carcass grade is a line on the quote, not a verbal aside. The practical comparison is marine ply vs commercial ply in Mumbai.
Marine or another moisture-resistant carcass resists humidity better than a basic commercial board in a wet zone. It is not waterproof forever. Open edges, unsealed pipe cut-outs, and a leak that sits for weeks will still swell a board. A glossy shutter does not protect a weak box behind it.
What we do at install, when it is in the quote:
- Carcass grade matched to wet zones and written down
- Edge banding and sealed cut-outs for pipes and sinks
- Hardware fixed into sound board, not into a crumbled edge
- Packing so a unit is not forced onto chronically damp plaster without a plan
What helps after handover — this is care, not an extra warranty term:
- Fix a slow leak quickly, and tell us if water reached a unit we built
- Do not store wet mops or standing water inside a sink cabinet
- Wipe spills off edges and toe-kicks instead of leaving them
- Give closed wardrobes on external walls some air in the monsoon, so they are not a sealed damp box
- Keep AC condensate off the carcass. A drip is a services fault, not a hinge fault
If the room was used this way and a joint or fit from our work fails inside the year, that is a workmanship call. If the core swelled because water sat in the cabinet, we will say so. Choosing a higher carcass grade moves a quote up from the starting bands on our kitchen cost and wardrobe cost guides. Those bands stay indicative: kitchen from ₹85,000, wardrobe from ₹22,000, furniture from ₹18,000. The measured quote is the price.
Hardware, separately from the box
Soft-close hinges and drawer channels are specified on the quote. We fit them. If a hinge we fixed comes loose because of our assembly, or because the board we used failed from our work, that sits inside the 1-year workmanship cover.
If the mechanism itself fails — a channel that collapses, a soft-close damper that dies — that follows the maker’s terms where those terms apply. We do not rebrand a hinge brand’s policy as our own lifetime hardware warranty. The brand and grade belong on the quote so you can see which terms you have.
