Custom TV unit in Mumbai — wall units, floating consoles, and storage
A TV unit in a Mumbai flat is rarely a showroom box. The wall may be short, the AC sits above the screen, the window eats one side, and the decoder, speaker, and console still need a home. Mumbai Master Carpentry builds wall-mounted, floating, and floor-standing entertainment units to the wall we measure — with storage only where you will actually use it.

This is carpentry, not a television package. You (or your dealer) supply the screen. We build the carcass, shutters, shelves, and cable path, then install it. Workshop: 208, Wakefield House, Ballard Pier, Fort. The way we measure, quote, and hand over is the same process as the rest of our work, and the 1-year workmanship warranty covers what we built.
What we usually build
- Floating console — a box off the floor, useful when the living room is small and you want the floor clear to mop
- Low unit with shutters or drawers — remotes, a console, and a few books, without a full wall of storage
- Media wall — back panel, open niches, and closed storage when the whole wall is the brief
- Flanking storage — tall side units when the TV wall is also the only storage in the room
Tell us what has to be hidden (set-top box, router, games) and what should stay reachable. A pretty shutter in front of a device you open every day becomes an annoyance within a week.
What a Mumbai wall changes
Older rooms in Fort, Dadar, and Bandra are often out of plumb. A floating unit shows that gap. We pack and scribe so the shadow line is even, and we write that labour on the quote instead of discovering it on install day.
Check these before you compare two prices:
- Where the TV bracket lands, and whether the wall is brick, block, or a dry partition
- AC indoor unit and the drip line — condensate should not land on the top panel
- Socket and cable points. We leave a path; we do not rewire the room
- Society lift and delivery window if the unit is long
Starting band (indicative only)
Custom furniture on our site starts from ₹18,000 per piece. That figure is Mumbai Master Carpentry’s indicative starting band for a simpler made-to-measure piece. It is not a city average and not the price of a wall-to-wall media unit. Width, floating hardware, shutters, internal drawers, and finish move the quote. The measured visit is the bill. Wider furniture context is on custom furniture in Mumbai. Size, finish, and wall versus floating are set out in TV unit cost in Mumbai.
What the quote should name
- Width, height, and depth, and whether it floats or sits on the floor
- Carcass board and shutter finish
- Open niches versus closed storage
- Cable access and ventilation for boxes that get warm
- Who supplies the TV bracket (usually you)
- Installation, packing, and any old-unit removal
- Timeline after advance, and the workmanship warranty
If an existing console only needs a hinge, a lifted edge, or a polish, read furniture repair in Mumbai before you replace it. Not every tired unit is worth a new carcass.

FAQ
No. We build and install the unit. You or your dealer supply the screen and, unless we agree otherwise, the wall bracket.
No. ₹18,000 is Mumbai Master Carpentry’s indicative starting band for a simpler custom furniture piece, not a full-width media wall and not a city average. Size, floating hardware, storage, and finish change the total. The quote follows a free site visit.
Sometimes. We check what the wall is made of at the visit. A dry partition may need a different fixing, or a floor-standing unit instead. We will say so before you approve the quote.
Yes, if you want them inside. Tell us which devices need airflow and which cables you still unplug. A sealed box around a warm decoder is a poor idea.
A single piece is usually faster than a kitchen or a full wardrobe run. You get a timeline after measurement and approval, not a guess from a photo.
