A Mumbai kitchen runs out of space the week the rice, the oil, and the monthly groceries come home. Wall units fill with daily plates. Base drawers fill with pots. The builder loft is too deep and too high to use. A pantry unit is the tall cabinet that takes that load: dry food, spices, and the utensils that should not sit on the counter through the monsoon.

The photo shows pull-out baskets from a kitchen we built. Your pantry can use that interior, or plain shelves. Plates you want on show in the dining room are a crockery unit.

Baskets suit packets and bulky tins. Shelves suit heavy jars if the pins are up to the weight. We write which one is in the quote. A photo of a basket is not a basket unless the line says so.

If we are drawing a modular kitchen, the pantry is a named line on that quote, not a second project you discover later. If you only need the tall unit added beside boxes that are still sound, we measure that opening and quote the unit. If the old carcass is soft, we will say whether the section should be replaced — see furniture repair before you pay to patch a box that will not hold screws.
What moves the line
We do not sell a fixed “pantry package”. Inside a kitchen, our indicative band starts at ₹85,000 for a roughly 10 ft straight run. - Height. To the slab, or stopping under a beam
- Width. A 450 mm pull-out is a different box from a 600 or 900 mm shelf unit

No. ₹85,000 is our indicative starting band for a roughly 10 ft straight kitchen, not a city average and not a promise that every tall unit sits inside that figure. A pantry is a named line: size, interior, and board. The measured quote is the price.
Shelves if you want simple storage and a lower hardware cost. Pull-outs if the unit is narrow and you do not want to kneel into the back. We specify which, so you are not paying for a basket you only saw in a photo.
Often yes, if there is a real opening and the neighbouring boxes are still sound. If the old carcass is swollen, we will say whether a new tall unit can sit beside it or whether that section should be replaced.
If it is in the splash or steam zone, we usually specify a moisture-resistant carcass and write it on the quote. A tall unit on a dry wall away from the sink can be a different grade if the quote says so. Marine ply is not a waterproof label.
Only if the kitchen design and the building rules allow a proper cylinder cabinet, with the ventilation that requires. We will not hide a cylinder in a sealed grocery box. Mention it on the first call if a cylinder has to stay in the kitchen.
