Monsoon carpentry in Mumbai: when to book the work, and how to care for what you have
The monsoon does not close the workshop, and it does not mean you should replace a kitchen because the forecast says rain. Mumbai Master Carpentry still measures, builds at Fort, and installs when the flat is ready. This page is about timing: when a visit is sensible, when an install should wait, and when the useful step is care rather than a new carcass. When to book new carpentry
- Book the measure when you know the layout. You do not need a cloudless week for a site visit. You need access to the flat.
- Do not start the install clock while another trade is still flooding the room. A plumber, a waterproofer, or a tile layer who is not finished will move our dates. Tell us.
- Kitchen timing stays the kitchen timing. Often about 12–18 days after approval, as on the timeline. Monsoon does not add a secret surcharge, and it does not make a 12-day job a 4-day job.
- Wardrobes on an external wall should say so at the visit, so the carcass grade is a choice, not a surprise in July.
What we will not call carpentry
A leak from the flat above, a failed bathroom waterproofing layer, and a pipe sweating inside a shutter are not furniture defects. We will say that on site. Patching a box and leaving the leak is how the same repair returns in August. Our 1-year workmanship warranty covers joints, fit, and finish on work we did. It does not cover a flood or a board that was kept wet after we pointed it out.
If the job is really “we want this finished before Diwali”, read festive furniture timing as well. The monsoon and a festival date can land in the same month. The constraint is still the measure, the approval, and a dry room — not a season rate.

Yes. We aim to visit within 48 hours on working days once the slot is booked. Very heavy rain, or a long trip, can move that slot. We confirm it rather than promising a same-morning dash from Fort.
Not by default. Fabrication is indoors at our Fort workshop. Installation should wait if the flat is still wet from civil work or an open leak. A dry room can be fitted in the monsoon.

No. The warranty is 1 year of workmanship on carpentry we built. It does not cover a plumbing leak, a flood, or water left sitting in a sink unit. Humidity is not, by itself, a defect.
We do not add a monsoon surcharge. The quote is the measured scope: materials, hardware, labour, and the site. A difficult delivery is a line if it is real, and it is written down. It is not a season percentage.
